Nice for breakfast or other meals.

**SOUTHERN CUISINE**

Traditional dishes with an uptown twist. Arrive early, especially on weekends, because this place is popular with both locals and tourists.	Moose Cafe www.eatatthemoosecafe.com Western North Carolina Farmer's Market (exit 47 off I-40) PHONE: 828.255.0920 The Moose Cafe serves up down-home, southern-style cooking, great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Made-from-scratch dishes often made from local ingredients from the adjacent farmer's market. Biscuits and gravy, barbecue, chicken n' dumplings, buttermilk fried chicken breast… take your pick. Good place to bring the family.

**JAPANESE/SUSHI**

Offers hibachi/tappen yaki style dining.

Traditional family-style pizza, pasta and other Italian specialties. Skip Olive Garden and give Nona Mia a try on your next visit to the area.

**SEAFOOD**

**BARBECUE**

President Obama made a stop there when he vacationed in Asheville… and returned on his next visit. Don't miss it. Located in the heart of downtown… a local favorite.

They don't have a website, but visit the Mountain Xpress website for a review that will have you counting down the days until you get to try it. Neo Burrito uses lots of local ingredients and emphasizes sustainability in their operations.

It has often been voted Best Pizzeria in Western North Carolina.

**VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN**

Serving mostly tapas or "little dishes" and an extensive variety of wine, Zambra is a great place for a romantic evening or a night out on the town with friends. Reservations recommended on weekends. Later shows are often rated PG-13 or R and sold out…earlier shows are for the kids. Both locations have arcade games for the kids, the Merrimon one is bigger and more interesting. Caribbean-inspired mostly-pasta cuisine in the historic Montford district. They get really busy during normal lunch and dinner hours, so if you want a more leisurely experience go a little before or after these times. Dinner meals come with a basket of garlic (natty) bread and salad (get the His Majesty's dressing). The pesto pasta (Irie Ites) is a favorite, or if they have a special running it is usually spectacular.
